Moving with a 1 month old or at 36 weeks preggo?

So, I have posted about how we have to move by June 1st and I am due May 3rd.

Well, today, DH and I found the cutest, most perfect little house for us, but the landlady wants someone in April 1st.

There are pros and cons to both....the house is $200 less a month and she wants a 2 year lease (which I like so I don't have to deal with moving every year) and the house really is perfect for us.

And the baby would be a month old if he came on time...what if he was late? That is my biggest fear...

So, we are really torn..

I say do it. Start packing what you can now. If the baby is late your husband will handle it. You must have friends or family that could help in a pinch.

I agree. The moving is a temporary inconvenience. Saving $200 a month will most certainly come in handy with an infant. Think of all the diapers that $200 will buy!

do it. Get movers or friends and family to help.

We moved when I was around 10 weeks along. Not too tough...I stood there hold ing the dogs leashes!

You are so tired and just want to bond and sleep with the baby.

I think it would be much easier to move before the baby.

I would move beforehand if possible. I can't imagine how hard it would be to move with an infant.

Absolutely move NOW! We were in a similar predicament - move before or after baby is due. We decided to move when I was 7.5 preggo - and let me tell you - there is no way we could have done this with a baby. Besdies the fact that you have to stop and tend to the baby all the time, you will never get everything together and organized with baby stuff everywhere - plus, this way, you can get the room ready for the baby instead of feeling displaced - do it now - it will be tough - but I think easier than if baby is already here!

good luck! Moving sucks Chat Icon

Definitely move now. Plus- DH CAN'T expect you to do much physical labor if you're still pregnantChat Icon

Congrats on finding a place you love (and that's less $$$)

well I think the first month of a newborn is gonna fly by anyway.

If you can get mostly packed now and can get some help to finish packing , cause you will need it...I dont think its that much of a big deal.

I would wait till APril 1st.

But We move a lot and Im used it .

We could be set up in a matter of 2 days.

To me..WHERE I live is more important then the inconvenience, its not for that long and a newborn sleeps so much you will be able to pack with a newborn and unpack around it.

Only thing is you will be TIRED, but hey you have dealt with worse so far just being PG! Chat Icon

We just had an inspection yesterday and when we get the report this week we plan on signing the contract and trying to close asap - as the house will need a lot of paint work downstairs and I want to get the nursery finished before the baby comes - if we are luckily we will get in sometime in April - maybe not until end of April.

I personally would prefer to move before the baby comes than trying to care for an infant and trying to pack/move/paint all at once.
