Multiple languages
Who speaks another language fluently? I don't mean like high school Spanish, but full conversations? What language is it? Is English your 2nd (or 3rd, 4th, etc) language or your primary language? What about your DH, does he speak this other language too? I find this so fascinating!

Re: Multiple languages
I speak Spanish fluently and it was my first language even though I was born in the US. I learned English in school.
DH is trying very hard to learn Spanish and he knows alot, but he understands alot more than he will speak.

Re: Multiple languages
DH's 1st language was Spanish. He is fluent in Spanish. He has to do his multiplication in Spanish because that is how he learned. I can understand enough Spanish to get by. I took 2 courses but have since stopped I would like to continue to learn. DH and his mom speak to Alex in Spanish so hopefully he will be bi-lingual.

Re: Multiple languages
Dh's first language is Hebrew. My mom also speaks Hebrew fluently. Since he wants to speak it to our children, I have until our kids start talking to learn. I'm half way there!
