Music at work?

do you listen at work at your desk if you sit in a workstation or cubicle?

there's someone here who is visiting from another office borrowing a cubcicle and we can hear her music. We told her to lower it and I even offered her some headphones which she turned down.

She did lower the music and now it's back up to a little louder volume. She's also on the phone. I don't know how she talks on the phone and has the music in the background.

It's country...I'm gonna shoot myself.
don't flame..listen to what you want..keep it to yourself.

I think she sits in an office at her own building. She couldn't believe we could hear it.

Of course we can you dipsh!t...everyone can.

I'm waiting for my boss to say something and then she would be really embarassed.

Re: Music at work?

I listen to my radio at my desk – we have cubicals and I keep it so low sometimes I don’t even hear it. My co-worker whose cubicle is right next to mine – we share a ½ wall has her radio on to and I NEVER hear it unless it’s a good song she wants me to hear. That’s soo rude!!! It would drive me crazy.
Half the time I end up lowering my radio when I am on the phone especially with all the noise of the office, fax machine, copier, people talking , the air conditioner

I would ask her to lower I again…….

Re: Music at work?

Our printers are going, phones ringing and people walking by mid-meeting...it's very distracting.

Then my friend next to me is fighting with her BF and texting so all I hear is beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep....

grrr

we're not allowed to have music at the office. all you hear all day is people on the phones and typing. i hated it at first but ive gotten so used to it that too much noise annoys me now!

no, I don't listen to music at work, and neither does anyone else around me - thank goodness.

I work in a corporate environment and IMO, that is unprofessional. I can see listening to an iPod if you have the type of job that allows it, or if you have your own office – fine. But in a cubicle? Chat Icon

yeah, this woman was an officer and hoteling on our floor for some meetings. She has an office in her regular building. I guess she is used to having her music on and nobody hearing.

I also guess she doesn't care about the peons around her who are distracted. Self important crap. I work on a floor with very senior people. The peons report directly to the senior managment of the firm!

Re: Music at work?

One of the perks at my old job was getting to listen to music on headphones!! It helped with the routine. But never on speakers... that's just rude Chat Icon

Re: Music at work?

I share a cubicle with two other people and we listen to the radio.

I was here first (by myself) and so I kept the radio on (very low) so as to drown out the chatter from my neighboring cubicles. It hasn't bothered anyone (I asked in the beginning so as not to irritate anyone) yet and if a song comes in louder than usual or I'm listening to a cd that plays louder than the radio I make a point to lower it.
