Mutsy stroller

Anybody ever hear of a Mutsy stroller?
DH and his mother went to BBB today and he called me and asked me if I wanted one. He said it was about $700 and equivalent to a Bugaboo. His mom said his cousin in Poland has it.

Any thoughts on it? I think it is a lot of money...

Re: Mutsy stroller

I am familiar with them, to be honest, I don't believe that I have seen one of them in use on the street. I am guessing its the Urban Rider that you are looking at. Its a HUGE HUGE pram in general and the turning base is HUGE also, its not easy to get around in shops

Here is the mumsnet review:
Mums loved the Mutsy - "the ultimate head turner from Holland" - for it's "top of the range" looks, comfort and manoeuvrability. "It's superb off road" and "the air tyres bounce up and down kerbs easily and without jostling the baby". It's big so "can be a bit difficult in small shops" and heavy: "I wouldn't recommend for public transport". Plus "the shopping basket isn't very deep". But "if you don't use the bus or have stairs to negotiate and have a large boot then "buy this, you won't be disappointed".

If you want something thats equivelent to a Bugaboo, get a Bugaboo. There is no comparison to their maneouverability, their weight and, well, I just love love love mine.

My ONLY problem with the Bugaboo is that if you are running errands and runing in and out of the car, its kind of bulky to put together as its 2 pieces. Now that Noah is out of the small car seat that sat right on top of the stoller, I am thinking that I might get a McLaren soon cos its easier to put up and down...but I rate the Bugaboo as the best pram on the market today. (get a Frog rather than the other newer ones)

Re: Mutsy stroller

It is actually the 4-rider that DH and his mom saw. I think it is ridiculously priced and I personally want the Bumbleride Flyer (I like the reverse handle).

Basically what happened was that MIL (who is visiting from Poland) went out with DH (I gave them some mother-son bonding time. i.e. time for him to get driven crazy by her and let me be free) and they went to BBB with intents of buying her shower gift for us.

MIL is very opinionated and thinks she knows what is best for us and that we don't know what we want/need so she saw the Mutsy and told DH that his cousin in Poland has it and it is so great and blah blah.

I hate to be unappreciative but I don't care if this stroller is $700 and the hottest in Europe, this is for US not HER!!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I say spend the money on a pram, I have been walking the streets with my Bugaboo every single day since my son has been born, we probably walk like a mile, mile and a half a day...to baby group, to do our grocery shopping etc and I feel that you get what you pay for with these items! I will use mine with my next kid also (or sell the Bug and buy a Phil & Teds) anyway, its a gigantic piece of strollerage...gigantic!

Also, you have to buy the Chassis, seats, etc all seperately...

eta...its so not the hottest in Europe,
The Stokke Xolory is the hottest one...
