My 1 year old still doesn't clap hands
Do you think that's a problem? The dr. said it was fine and she'll do it when she's ready and she's doing everything else that is age appropriate but she just refuses to clap. She'll just clap her hands on her legs instead of together.

Thomas didn't clap hands until after one year. I can't remember exact age, but it was after. It's normal! Some babies do it later and some babies do it much earlier.

Ryan occasionally claps hands (8 months) and I think it is more by accident than anything else.
I feel like mostly kids mimic what they see, and I honestly don't do it all that often with him.  So I'm not really surprised he hasn't picked up on it yet.

I dont think its a problem. DS clapped his hands around 10 months but he didnt wave hi or bye until he was 12 or 13 months.
I think some "skills" they just learn quicker than others for whatever reason.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it is in conjunction with not meeting other more major milestones. I think it is is one of those things that some kids love to do and some don't do at all.

I am right there with you. my DD will be 1 on Friday and she doesnt do it either. if we are clapping our hands in front of her she will just swing her arms up and down but hasnt even come close to clapping. it is pretty much the only thing shes not doing that I thought she would.

My DS is 13 months and doesn't do it. But he walks, stacks little logs, and dances so I am not too worried. I don't think he is interested in doing it.

I don't think it's a problem. Every kid is different. For example, DS claps his hands when I clap...but he has no interest in cruising or walking. He'd rather butt scoot to move around.
