My 10 month old wakes up every hour!!!
Hi Ladies,
OMG I am so tired!!! My 10 month old has been waking up practically every hour for last several days ... we just don't know what to do (there seems to be no reason either, no tummy ache, not hungry)
We did the CIO method when she was younger, but now she's crying and sitting up or standing up in her crib ... she'll never soothe herself back to sleep!!!
We quit the pacifier cold turkey months ago (she didn't really use it anyways) and now she just crys and crys until we go to her, soothe her and get her back to bed.
What can I do? I'm a walking zombie!
Help!!!!

Re: My 10 month old wakes up every hour!!!
I went through this exact thing a little over a month ago exactly when Mason was 10 months. He was teething so bad.
It was a nightmare. Waking every hour or two hours and staying up and just crying.
We tried Motrin, but just means he'd sleep a bit longer and wake up groggy.
We also started some bad habits. B/c he was uncomfortable we were rocking him to sleep then laying him in the crib. He'd get up and cry so we rocked again and the moment we lay him down he'd get up. This was going on for a month. Nightmare! The Ped said he's fine. As soon as the teeth came through I told DH we have to let him CIO. Meagan on here recommended the Homedics sound spa that plays music (you can use the timer to an hour or leave it on all night) and it projects some stars on the ceiling or other things. First night we let him CIO with the music he was up for almost an hour walking around the whole crib and throwing his paci's. He just about STTN waking up at 5AM. Next night CIO for 20 mins and then up at 5:30AM. It finally worked! He's 11.5 months old and for almost 2 weeks we have the routine... after our night routine (bath, bottle, book, etc) I turn on the music and projector. He looks up at the show and then I kiss him and lay him down. He looks up for a bit then rolls over and goes to sleep. Sleeps till 7 - 7:30 AM During the week I wake him for daycare. It's great for me so I have time to get ready then get him up. Not sure if this long story helps, but it's worth trying. Haven't gotten rid of the paci yet. He loves it and holds one when he sleeps

Is she teething? My DD is a great sleeper normally, but when she's teething, we have rough nights. When I know for sure she is teething, I give her motrin at bedtime and it seems to help.

I agree, when DD woke that much I gave Tylenol and figured something was bothering her...she went right to sleep at the taste, I think she knew it would make her feel better!

Re: My 10 month old wakes up every hour!!!
We went through this a couple weeks ago (also at 10 months). It lasted over a week , but thankfully he seems to have stated STTN again (without resorting to CIO).
I think it was teething--he has 10 teeth but is getting in 4 more molars, which look really painful. I give motrin (generic) before bed when he's teething, and he lasts 6 hours til it wears off. We usually wound up taking him into bed with us.
