the backstoryin case anyone was interested:
During the holidays, my brother, his wife, my husband, son & I went bowling... AIdan was eyeing the vending machine all night and came to us asking for SWED-DISH FISH (pronounced like HEAD-ISH)
for some reason my brother & I found this hysterical.... on New Years day I was on the phone with my sister telling her the story about the SWED-DISH fish...
My son took offense to our laughter (rightfully so) got angry with me and ran away from me crying.
Of course I repeatedly apologized for embarassing him and promised to be more careful. I also explained that we thought what he said was cute and weren't making fun of him.
He still threw a tantrum to the point where he was unreasonable and I had to eventually ignore him... Theres only so much apologizing you can do.
I had a long talk with him last night about it. He understands that we weren't making fun of him, but it still must have affected him to incorporate it into his goals for 2008, don'cha think?
