My 9 week old Maltipoo was just given a non-fit for sale certificate from our vet....
he was diagnosed with Bilateral Patellar luxation. It's grade 1.... I don't know what to do. What would you all do? Please help me, I'm so upset.

Re: My 9 week old Maltipoo was just given a non-fit for sale certificate from our vet....
As discussed on here numerous times, there are no reputable breeders of mixed breeds as they are not AKC recognized. It's pretty safe to assume you bought him from a petstore or mill/byb. So the reality is that's the way it goes. You can try to fight with them but I it will not be worth your time and energy. That's why it's so important to adopt or go to a reputable breeder only.
WWID? I would not waste my time and energy fighting. You never know what you are going to get from a BYB or a pet store, that's a risk you take when buying a pet from these places. Either way I would be keeping the dog and giving it the medical care and attention it needs. Just like with a child when you have one, never know what the child may or may not have health wise. Animals are the same and run the same risk of not being well. Difference is if it was a reputable breeder, you would have more recourse and they would also be selling healthier pets. It's unfortunate but extremely common to get a sick pet from a petstore or BYB.

Thanks.... yes, I did purchase from a pet store after searching and searching unsuccessfully for an adoptable dog that fit what we needed. I guess I'm more concerned about what will Bilateral Patellar luxation entail down the road.

I am not sure. I wish I could help you with that.

I have to agree with everything Goobster said.
It seems very soon to be giving that kind of diagnosis, but I don't know much about it. I know someone fostering a dog that might have hip dysplasia issues and their vet said they have to wait until he's older for a true diagnosis.
Since you have the medical terms, I'd start Googling and seeing what you can find. Then I would get a 2nd opinion and estimates on the cost to repair. I wish you luck

from what i remember with my xsil's dog, grade II and above needs surgery to correct. this is usually diagnosed early on in the dogs life and is a common condition in small breeds.

I would too. I feel that once you get a pet, you have the responsibility to take care of it for the rest of its life. What does the vet say the treatment is for this?

Re: My 9 week old Maltipoo was just given a non-fit for sale certificate from our vet....
Im sure you didn't come on here to be lectured about where you bought your dog My parents have a maltipoo and apparently this is very common. I think its something that needs to be monitored throughout their life and may eventually need surgery to correct. Good luck post a picture of your puppy!! I love maltipoos they are awesome dogs
ETA add what puppy store did you buy from? My girlfriend bought recently from a puppy store and got a lot of money back from the store due to medical bills
