My AWFUL picture experience at Sears! I am STILL LIVID!

Most of you probably dont go to this sears since I am in Queens and be grateful you dont if you use their portrait studios at all!

I made an appt. through their website for Megans 2 year pictures. I didnt want a whole package..just something simple...something with the number 2 of course signifying her birthday. I decided to try to do this every year. So we get there a half hour early. Girl at desk ask for my name..I tell her and she says there isnt an appt. there under that name. So I showed her the email confirmation they had sent me, she huffs and puffs and pushes a piece of paper at me and says..here fill this out all nasty. I do and she says..sit over there.

So Megan is getting nervous. She doesnt like strange places or strangers very much. I know how Megan is and I know she doesnt pose well for pictures but I just wanted one shot with that d amn number 2! So the same lady from the desk puts a light on in the room. I am praying she isnt the one taking the pictures, well of course she is. She says..ok come in. As soon as we get in, Megan starts crying. I tell her that she scares easily and anything she sees as "decent" to just snap it cause she wont stay posed. Ok she says.

She continues to pull a chair over behind the camera, sit her fat arse down and NEVER MOVE! My husband and I are doing EVERYTHING and then some to first calm Megan down and then anything to get a smile. She SITS THERE!!!!!!! Doesnt say a word, doesnt move, doesnt click a shot! NOTHING!!!!! I mean literally, my husband and I were picking up their props trying to make her laugh, crawling around the floor, dancing behind the camera and this girl didnt even say to say cheese. NOTHING!

I put up with it for as long as I could. My husband is the type of person who will say nothing, so I always look like the crazy one. So after 40 minutes..yes 40 minutes of her SITTING THERE...I tell her to just give me the one shot we got cause shes not gonna pose for any more and thats obviously what shes waiting for. So she says..I cant give you one, I gotta fill up a cd!!! Are you kidding me??? FIrst off, how can you fill anything up when your not clicking and how can you expect ANY child is going to smile at you when all you do is SIT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last straw..I took Megan, put her in the stroller..she FINALLY stood up..asked if i wanted to reschedule. I said nO i want to speak to the manager..supposedly it was HER!!!! I told her off with a few choice words and said I was reporting this awful experience to corporate. She said..Do what you feel the need to do Maam..have a nice day!!!!!!!!

I am so angry!!!!!!! So I have no pictures and I am not trying again. It obviously makes Megan nervous in a setting like that and she obviously doenst know how to capture the spirit of a child. The way Megan was laughing and bending over...is HER! And I kept telling her that..NOPE..sat there!

So...if any of you are ever thinking of going to Sears on Queens Blvd in Rego Park for any reason...STAY AWAY!!!!! I gotta admit, I took her there for her first christmas pictures and the girl I had was great. I guess its all about who you get..but it just ruined my entire day!!!!!

I would have punched her in the face! I'm sorry you had a crappy experience. That's basically how our experience at Target went for her one year pictures. I will never go to a studio again. Lori (wherever you are, you're an angel! ) is by far the most talented photographer I know, and she gets beautiful shots of Ava. I don't want some fake posed shots of her anyway. Much rather have someone get Ava's personality on film

Noreen, I totally feel for you & had a similar experience w/ Sears in Massapequa....he told me the same thing...first he said they'd post the pics to the website....then when I called a few hours later he said, "we didn't get enough shots to post." I was LIVID. I was doing all I could to get her to smile & he had the camera & was literally saying, look here, look at me....well she was crawling & toddling & he supposedly got 2 shots.

I did end up going back to a different Sears & the lady was a bit better, but I ended up getting the $10. package.

So FRUSTRATING though & such a waste of time.

We had an awful experience with Sears as well.

You are right. They don't care, they must take all of the "assigned" poses no matter how late it is, how tired and cranky the kids are... and when you say you only want X pose they make you sit through the entire presentation on the computer. Our experience was awful too

I am so happy to hear that others either have had similar experiences or would have felt/done the same as me. I was beginning to think I was crazy. And my dh didnt seem annoyed at all..that drives me NUTS about him!

It's definitely hit or miss. I've just given up on taking my kids to get pics, because no one can really do it. You know Lauren - she's the same as Megan. I'm just patiently waiting until the day comes where she sits still.

I'm sorry sorry you had such a bad experience. You should try Babies R Us near me in College Point they've always been pretty understanding and helpful with my kids.

Wow, I give you a lot of credit for keeping your cool, I wouldn't have been so nice to this chick!

Is it so HARD for people to do THERE job these days??? I never got why people stay at there jobs if they hate it so much and take it out on others, get the hell out if you hate where you work!
