My Belly Cast (pics inside)
My DH and I did this the other night...it was a lot more work than I anticipated, but well worth it. My DH is going to sand, prime, and paint it when we think of something original.
By the way, is there a thread on lifamilies for "Belly Casting"? I tried to search it, but nothing came up....

i don't know that there's an 'offical thread' but other girls have done them before.
one of the girls on parenting posted pics of her newborn IN the belly cast - it was VERY cool!!!!
it looks snazzy! nice job!!!!

MOTHERHOOD sold the kit in a paint can - it cost $25.00. I bet if you go to a medical supply store and get the casting material it will work just as well. The only thing other than that included in the can was an oil you put on your skin before applying the cast.

Really cute! You have the perfect casting shape! If I did one, we could use it as a spare room!!!
Really like the idea of painting the inside too and taking a pic of the baby inside!

It looks great!!!! I am so glad I did one as well!! I bought my kit on ebay and it was soo cheap. I think it was under $10!! It was a lot of work but def worth it. I put a hole in it and hung it with ribbon:)

It took a about 30-45 minutes - and I was standing. I was 37 weeks when we did this. I think this is a perfect time. If you wait any linger, the opportunity may not be there (this happened to two of my girlfriends).
