My BIL is getting married tomorrow
by a judge or what have you - I can't remember what he said.
Since he is in Florida, we obviously can't make it.
He 'might' be having a reception type wedding in a couple of months, so that the whole family can attend.
SOOOO my question is - would you send them a gift now?
A small gift now and then something bigger if they have something later?
Or a big gift?
Or send them flowers and wait for the reception?
I guess I am asking, what would you do?
Thanks, any advice is appreciated.

Re: My BIL is getting married tomorrow
I had the same situation. I sent a card right away and after 6 months I didn't see a reception being planned so I gave them there gift when we saw them last. Regardless of the reception you still are going to give you bil a gift so you can give it when you want.
It makes it more diffucult when there is no ettiquette for guidance

I would send them the big gift now or ask them what they want. We had this exact situation w/DH's sister. We told them that we want to give them a wedding gift and would they rather have it now or at the small reception? They chose the "now" option. HTH

I would send flowers now & big gift at the reception. If he doesn't opt to have a reception, I would send it then.

Will they be sending out wedding announcements? If so I would wait for those to go out and then send the gift.
