My birth story from 10/22/04
3 years later and 3 months before the next one I'll join in and post my story on this board too!!! I had to go back to LIW to find my story!! But here it is:
I am happy to say that I had my overdue baby girl on Friday, October 22 and I could not be happier!! Here's a quick recap of my birth story:
I woke up in a lot of pain at 5:30 in the morning. At first I didn't really know what it was because it was constant pain. There was no break between contractions. I couldn't imagine that this was what labor felt like. The doctors say I slept through early labor and woke up in full force labor. We got to the hospital around 7:00, I was 3 cm. dilated when I got there. At around 9:00 they gave me the epidural, and broke my water shortly after. By 11:00 I was 10 cm. So I thought this was going to be a quick delivery. When they broke my water they noticed that there was meconium but the doctor ran some tests and said everything looked great and she wanted me to start pushing. They stopped the epidural drip and I began the "fun" of pushing. Well after over 2 hours of pushing the baby still was up very high and hadn't really moved down at all. So the doctor said that between the meconium and the fact that she was still up high she thought the best course of action was a c-section. Which I was totally fine with because we were talking about the health of the baby at that point.
So at 1:35 p.m. my litte angel was born. She weighed 7 lbs., 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. I am happy to say that mommy and baby are doing well. We got home from the hospital yesterday. I am quite sore and tired but so happy to have my daughter with me. She is so precious and beautiful. The doctors say she is doing well and they said there were no problems with her from the meconium.
My little girl is named Kiera Marie.
