My birth story with link to pics
My edd was sept 28, and oct 3 i was 5 days past due, and not feeling so happy...i ate breakfast around 10am, went to lay down and watch tv, when all of a sudden i felt a little rumble in my stomach and then a leak..i quickly got up and realized my water had broken..i rushed to tell dh, but put off calling dr until i showered and got ready..i figured i had time before the contractions hit..boy was i wrong! 30 min later they came like 7 min apart, and were so painful, i started to cry...my dh just wanted to go to hosp but i had to wait for a break in between...in the car ride to winthrop (from the bronx) was agony, but made it in less than 25 min...once in the hosp, around 1130 or so, they put me in triage, and my contractions were so bad i was crying and in so much pain and asked for epidural right away..i was 3 cm by 12pm and kept gushing my water out...not a pretty feeling...my dr quickly arrived at the hosp which i appreciated and never left my site..i was given the epidural and in less than 2 hrs i went to 9 cm...i guess that's how strong the contractions were...i don't know why anyone would want to go thru so much pain, but the epidural was my godsend..no problems whatsoever, and i still felt contractions but no pain...i started pushing around 5pm and the toughest part was holding my breath while trying to push..i thought i was doing great, even my dr told me, but baby's heartrate kept dipping and they kept me switching positions...after 2 hrs of pushing and pitocin to make baby come lower, he wasn't cooperating, was still high up so talk of c-section came up...i was kinda upset since i thought i could get through the pushing and all that strength wasted but whatever was best for my baby...they wheeled me around 7:15 to operate and Christopher William was born at 8:23pm weighing in at a whopping 9lb 6 oz! the reason he was so high up was cause his arm was around his head so no way i was getting that thru me...the stitching took 6 surgeons since i had complicated fibroids and were bleeding...it took a while to close me up and dh was worried, and so was a waiting room full of people outside waiting to find out what we had....recovery sucks..i can't believe the pain of the incision and getting in and out of bed really was horrible and painful, but it's getting better everyday, and looking at my son's face is all worth it...my hosp stay wasn't great but that's another topic...without further ado, here's a link to my beautiful baby Christopher William
