My birthday wish....
I told DH this year that I want him to THINK about what he is getting me and to BE CREATIVE without spending $$.
I mean, he can spend a few $ if it goes with it, but I want him to think outside of the box instead of going to the jewelry store and picking out the first thing with bling on sale 
He has 2 weeks from today - lets see how much thought he puts into it and what the outcome will be

I remember back in the day when I was dating someone else I said the same thing (we were together for years) and you know what I got. One of those handheld Nintendo Game Boys. OK this is what he got the girl that hasn't played a video game since Atari 
I think it's a great idea and I hope your DH does a better job then my ex

One year, I got DW (GF at the time) a "new" dashboard for her T-bird. It was all digital, and the display wasn't working any more. She was driving up to Albany for college all the time without a speedometer.
We were in college, broke, and it definitely made her much safer. It's not classically "romantic", but she definitely appreciated it, and it's definitely "creative". Plus, I think it makes a funny story.... "I got DW a dashboard for her b-day"
