My blood pressure has been high for about a week...
I'm really worried.
I went to the OB last week, and she told me my BP was 150/90. I chalked it off to the fact that I have so much pain waking up in the morning, and I had been up for less than 2 hours.
Today I had it taken again at my GP's office, and it was 148/88.
I'm 22 weeks--could this be the onset of pre-eclampsia??? 
I'm going to call my OB tomorrow and see if I can get in to have it checked, but it's been weighing on my mind.

Can you get pre-eclampsia that early? Just wondering.........I thought it was something that developed towards the end but I could be totally wrong. Hope everything is ok though with you.

Beth- are you on fish oil? Try it it is safe in pregnancy and has been known to lower BP. Mine was high for the first couple of weeks but now is normal to low (116/65 or so) I took GNC double strength fish oil

Yes, you can develop it that early.
I had an emergency C with my DD at 38 weeks due to high BP, so when I got pregnant with my DS I had to monitor my BP and bought a BP kit at CVS and would take it 3 times a day to make sure it was in normal range.
I would watch your salt intake and drink lots of water, try to stay off your feet too!

I'm not taking fish oil, but I take Expecta (DHA pill)--do you think it's as effective?

I will definitely up my water intake--unfortunately I have to be on my feet for most of the day because my sciatica is aggravated by sitting and laying down  (I have a herniated disc in my back).

Yes unfortunately I think it can be that early. I had an excruciating headache two weeks ago and couldn't get out of bed for two days. When I finally called the doc on the third day they rushed me in to check my bp bc they were worried about pre-eclampsia. I was 24 weeks.
Beth- sending you lots of hugs. Def have them keep an eye on it and drink lots of water. Feel better.

did they start you on labetalol?? it did wonders for me...my bp's were higher than yours and now I have been in the 1teens over 60's but now in the hospital I am 90/50's I am asking the dr to lower it this morning...
