My Cake Won 2nd Prize
I made a Better Than Sex cake and it won 2nd prize in a bake off. Brownies won first prize. I'd love to taste any brownie that wins 1st prize over other desserts!

Re: My Cake Won 2nd Prize
Here's the recipe for those who asked:
Better Than Sex Cake
Yellow cake mix Large can of crushed pinapple 1 cup of sugar Two boxes of instant french vanilla pudding 8 oz. cool whip Shredded coconut
Bake the cake in a 9 x 13 pan according tot he directions. Let the cake cool.
In a pot combine the sugar and the pineapple. Heat the mixture until boiling. Let cool slightly and pour over the cooled cake.
Toast the shredded coconut by spreading it in a thin layer on a cookie sheet pan and baking for 10-15 minutes at 325 degrees, mixing it up frequently. Set aside.
Make the pudding according to the box, less 1/2 cup of milk. Pour that over the cake.
Put the cake in the fridge and let the pudding set.
Cover with cool whip and sprinkled toasted coconut on top.

Re: My Cake Won 2nd Prize
this could be a dumb question but do you have to drain the crushed pineapple?

Yep, just keep layering it on. The layers are pretty thin and I left time for it all to settle. If you want to put a cover over it without ruining the top layer, I'd transfer the cake to a larger pan before layering everything over it.

That did cross my mind but it didn't say to drain so I wasn't sure. Thanks!

Re: My Cake Won 2nd Prize
I make this cake all the time. No, dont drain the pineapple. As for the pan, most of the time I am bringing this cake somewhere so I use a baking tin. it is the perfect size.
