my cat baby wants to play

at 4 AM every friggin day!!! Its like his internal alarm goes off.. 4 AM = play time!

He wakes us up by meaowing and banging at the door (no joke). Why?!?! o God!! DH tells me to let him meaow and ignore him and then he'll learn. But he just meaows, and then when I wake up, he rolls over wanting to be picked up and then goes and eats. It all lasts for like 5 mins.. and then he's back to normal.

I have tried to tire him out right before we go to bed, feed him, water in bowl toys out.. everything. I don't know what's wrong. He used to do this before, and then just stopped on his own. Now he's back at it again. He gets a lot of attention, love, cuddles, you name it. He's a very shy and scared cat.. so he's only friendly to me and DH.

your cat should come over and play with mine !! He's up between 3am & 4am EVERY DAY !! He's been doing it since he was a kitten (we got him at 8 weeks old) and he's now 2.5 years old.

I get up, feed him his wet food, spray some cat nip spray on his toys and go back to bed.

I've tried to feed him before going to bed (at 11:30 - midnight) and it doesn't work. It drives me crazy !!

What drives me even more crazy though is when DH is home at night and not working - he complains that I wake him up by getting up with the cat !!

i'm a big mush, i can't let him meaow. I think I shot myself in the foot with this one.. i can't ignore him.. i try for a few mins and then my mind starts racing, so i get up.. and then i see this ball of fur rolling around and purring like motor boat.. he doesn't care that momma needs to sleep!!!
