My coworker just brought me a package of wild smoked salmon
I can eat it if it's cooked right? Like lox and eggs?

I love smoked salmon but have not had any during my pregnancy. In my mind, smoked does not mean cooked, it's just cured.

I read somewhere that if you use smoked salmon as an ingredient in something that would be cooked through, like a casserole, that it's okay. It's like heating up coldcuts so that they are safe KWIM?
I'd hate to waste all this smoked salmon! And not to mention my mouth is watering

A bagel with salty belly lox is on my list of things I cnt wait to eat. I want that so much more than any alcohol or other "forbidden food"!

I think that smoked food has to be heated through until steaming, like cold cuts, to be considered safe from bacteria. If you're willing to do that to the smoked salmon, then you can enjoy without worrying about it.
