My coworker told me she wants to feel the baby kick.

Is it just me...or is that strange?! I was kind of turned off by it when she asked, so I just said the baby's not moving now! It's bad enough she wants to rub my belly....now she also wants to feel him kick!?

Anyone else get this request from someone other than DH?

yes!...I am close with my coworker so its fine...but all my friends are like can I touch it....if he kicks can I feel it.

I honestly don't care who feels it...as long as they ask and not just rubbing all up on me without notice.

ugh, my BIL is constantly asking- it's kind of creepy. If it was a close girlfriend I wouldn't mind but it's weird when your not that close to the person.

Re: My coworker told me she wants to feel the baby kick.

Lots of people want to feel the baby kick! I was always very curious to feel a baby kick before I was pregnant. Even now, it's amazing to me. I'm definitely a belly rubber (but I always ask permission first).

I have a friend in my book club who nearly molests me every time she sees me. I don't mind though - I'm more disturbed by the other women in the group who think pregnancy is gross and strange...

I would probably feel differently if it was a co-worker and not a friend, or a co-worker I didn't like.

I have a co-worker who touches my belly everytime she sees me - but she always asks first. It doesn't bother me at all.

If it was someone I was close to I wouldn't mind, but it is strange b/c it is at work and I kind of feel like there should be a no touching policy with co-workers Chat Icon

My DH offered up my belly to SIL. If she had asked I wouldn't care, but DH says "Why don't you let so and so feel your stomach?" I was like "HUH?" Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: My coworker told me she wants to feel the baby kick.

Ewww- no.

I'm sorry but I am funny like that.
I don't want anyone touching my belly.
I'm very self conscious about even having a belly and don't even want my husband coming near it just yet.
Besides with this blasted anterior placenta I can't even feel a thing yet- so there is nothing to feel

I would NEVER ask a co-worker to touch their belly.
EWWWWW- totally inappropriate.

If you guys aren't close that is just weird. So far I haven't had this request from anyone. I hope it stays that way.

My parents, aunts and uncles, friends, and cousins are welcome to my belly anytime. Otherwise, no touching!

SIL keeps asking if the baby is kicking so she can feel and even for her, I lie and tell her no (mostly because she irritates me in general). I have let DH's nieces feel, though the 11 year old was inviting HER friends to feel too Chat Icon

I work with a lot of people from Latin countries who are already touching my belly and right now it's just redistributed fat! Chat Icon

When I told people at work I was pregnant I was warned that there was going to be a lot of touching.

I hope no one takes offense to any of that. I was literally told "Oh, you are going to have a bunch of Latinos rubbing your belly!"

Yes, from close friends. That is okay with me. If you are not someone so close I would consider family, I would not be okay with it. I hate being touched.

I'll let my female coworkers touch my belly if they ask.

Just as long as they don't rub my belly after I give birth.Chat Icon

I do not think it is wierd at all, I am close to alot of my co-workers and would not have a problem with that
