My daughter wants to be Sportacus for Halloween
from Lazytown. Not Stephanie. Forget about any kind of Princess, mermaid, angel, etc. She wants to be a guy with a cheesy moustache.
The costume is anywhere from $20 to $40 on ebay so lots of kids want to be Sportacus. I'm assuming most are boys.
Should I go with it or try to talk her out of it? She's 3 and says "actually I love him" (her words LOL)

How FUNNY!! Go Tara! I love that she has a very strong idea about who she wants to dress as - that is awesome. I would let her do it.
But Liz, fear not...her tomboy days won't last forever! I promise you, I will very likely be posting a similar message next year, which is why I am taking this opportunity to dress Elena as Holly Hobby this year.

Liz that is SO cute. totally let her do it, those are the pics where you will laugh out loud with in 20 years.
I havent asked my boys yet, butI can guarantee that Nicholas will want to be Buzz Lightyear again. The obsession has NOT even remotely faded, almost two years later. HE is giddy beyond words at the mention or sight of dear Buzz.
I cant wait to see pics of your Sportacus-arella
ETA: LAst year this lady buying costumes was huffing and puffing that it was the 4th yr that her son wanted to be a Power Ranger

LOL...I can relate. We're in Power Ranger obsession here, too. In fact, the costume I got for Paul is so nice, I wouldn't mind if he wanted to use it again next year!

Re: My daughter wants to be Sportacus for Halloween
I had pretty much decided to let her do her thing so I'm glad that other Moms agree. You know how it is with parenting, especially as they start to get past infanthood, you have to let them be and still guide them. I don't suppose trying to change her mind about a costume is a battle worth having - it's a costume for goodness sake. I just thought it was funny she doesnt even want to be Stephanie with her pink hair since she loves pink too. I think it will be totally cute. And honestly I am impressed with her decisiveness in general.
Sportacus it is...I'll start eyeing the costumes.
