My DD hates tummy time
How do I make it more enjoyable?
Mom has her all day now and I asked if she could put her on tummy more throughout the day.

Re: My DD hates tummy time
I dont think any baby like tummy time at that age. I used to ask my mom to put DS on his belly a few times a day at least for a few min a time. I made sure he had toys and stuff to look at and touch.
Do you have a tummy time mat or they have one that actually spins....

Re: My DD hates tummy time
Can she hold her head up yet? My DD started doing that early, and didn't really enjoy tummy time until she did. I also found that it helped for me to put her on her tummy on the boppy so that her head was a few inches from the ground - she seemed to "get it" then - that she was supposed to look around - also it is less of an angle for them to have to raise their head to.
HTH!

Re: My DD hates tummy time
Some babies don't like it very much. Mine LOVES it, he prefers it to his back. In fact, he has fallen asleep on his tummy and I've left him alone and he sleeps sounder, longer and wakes up more refreshed. I wish I could put him in his crib for the night like that, but I won't.
Maybe just have her on her tummy for shorter periods of time throughout the day (maybe 5-10 min. at a time instead of the longer periods all at once).

Re: My DD hates tummy time
Other than toys, the only other thing I'd suggest is to get down on the floor with her.
Joseph hated tummy time until I laid next to him & talked to him. Eventually he started liking it & it was no longer necessary.
Maddie was fine from the get-go.

We had to get down on the floor with her too at the beginning.

Re: My DD hates tummy time
Niko always hated it, never ever got used to it no matter how many times or minutes per day I gave him tummy time. He would whine and scream and cry and then when he got older he'd just put his head down and lie there
He actually stilll hates being on his tummy in general, will flip right onto his back if he finds himself on his stomach... he's a strong little boy but really LAZZZZZZZY
