My DS and three bullies in the park today

Have a story for you...

Today I went to the park with my 4 yr old son and the park is divided in sections swings,basketball courts and slide monkey bars etc.
My Ds and his friend were riding there scooters in the basketball section which they were doing for some time until 5 7 yr old boys began to play basketball,
(there are 4 basketball courts) the kids said something like "Get out of here you little boys were playing" meanwhile my Ds and his friend was there first
My son told them to be quiet and then they start with my son they got around him and started pushing him and I saw what was happening and started running to him and one of them tried to take his sunglasses off his face.
At this point my son was telling them to leave him alone...
Well when I got to him which was 3 seconds or so I yelled at the kids telling them that it wasnt nice what they were doing that my Ds was there first and he was younger then them, Well the mother of one of the boys goes to me Who do you think you are yelling at the boys that my son started and they arent 16 and I have a lot of nerve ..
Meanwhile,,, Hello my son is 4 and they are bigger then him and was she blind didnt she see what was happening...
I told her I think she better check herself and I wasnt going to stand there and fight her infront of the kids.

Well when we finally was leaving the park after my Ds stopped crying I didnt want to leave and let the boys seeing him cry the kids were yelling "By Trouble maker" ' tHANK GOD they are leaving "

You know what really made me mad is because there were others mothers there that know my Ds and didnt say anything to the moron mother that was out of control. They know my son isnt a trouble maker and It would of been nice to have someone else say something.. I would of ..
While all the mom where talking and my son was on the swing before this happened I was good enough to push there kid, the kids were like (my sons name) Mommie can you push me ..

Do you think I was wrong ?
Also should have I expected another parent to say something.. I am new at this and I dont know really what to expect....

I probably would have told my son to give them a turn. It was a basketball court, they wanted to play basketball & your son was doing it for awhile (unless i read that wrong)

I do think they were wrong to pick on him. I think telling them to use their manners & ask for a turn would have been best. I probably wouldn't have yelled at them unless it escalated into something different.

I think not fighting with the mom in front of the kids was the best course of action.

I completely understand .
There were 3 other basketball hoops that they could of played by. The only reason why I yelled at this point they were all pushing him and he was about to fall, and they were around him and they were taking turns pushing him .

I didnt want to fight with the mom that why I walked away ..

first, omg your kids are soooo cute!!

i think the other moms just didn't want to get involved in a confrontation.. that would probably make things worse when ppl start taking sides. a brawl could break out!

but all moms are protective of their kids and that makes us blind sometimes.......

i think u did the right thing by walking away..
