My electric meter is running backwards!!!!!!!!
They haven't finished everything with the panel install yet, and I still need 3 more panels, but the system is on-line, so I figured I'd take a peek this morning.
The sun is very low in the sky, and I still have to trim and/or cut some trees to maximize the panel efficiency, but the electric meter was running backwards this morning!!!!  Not very much, but any amount backwards means no money for LIPA, and money for me....

A neighbor has panels on their house that is North/South oriented, so the panels are facing east and west.... They may be able to configure something for you....

That's nice. The true test will be in the summer when you have stuff like CAC running.
But with the meter running backwards now, even if it runs forward in the summer it should hopefully even out.

I checked it again around 11am, and it is moving backwards at a pretty good clip! I think it's going as fast backwards as it used to go forward during relatively heavy usage....
I'm getting meters installed tomorrow so I can keep better track of what's going on.

Yay to you!!! Any money NOT going to LIPA is a GREAT thing!!!
I would love to do something like this but the up-front cost is just too much, we can't afford it.
