Did I ever tell you that I hate people?

MY EYE
I woke up this morning with a purple spot on the inner corner of my eye
I did not bump, hit, hurt it in anyway
I am nervous b/c my back was hurting last night but I thought it was my mattress
My dad currently has shingles, but I was told it wasn't contagious if you had chicken pox (which I did)
Here is a pic..
Anyone?

Ok, from what I read its not contagious
And the rash looks different in the pics
So, I have no idea what happened to my eye!

It kinda looks like a stye, but I really can't tell with that pic. Some of The s/s are redness, swelling, pain, eye irritation, sensitive to light, and ovbiously the bump. Have any of those?

Nope, had no idea it was there until I got out of the shower and went to put my makeup on
And, there is not really a bump, just that purple/black spot

It looks like a stye to me too but I'm assuming you could tell if it was. Is the inner corner purple as in a bruise?
Shingles is supposed to go along the nerves of the body. Also you can get it if you've had the chicken pox. My friend had it (on his face) and he had the chicken pox when he was younger.

WEIRD
Is the eye itself irritated or just the outside?

It doesn't hurt at all
It looks like a bruise, just on the outside
I just got nervous b/c my dad has shingles, and my boss has 2 babies and the last thing I want is to get anyone sick
But, I don't think its shingles after reading more

Maybe its pink eye? Last year my DD had pink eye, the usual kind where you put the eye drops in and it goes away in a few days. I ended up catching it and for some reason it manifested itself in the form of bruising around the eyes. I looked like someone beat me. My one eyelid was blackish purple and under my eyes as well. I would go to an opthamologist to check it out.

Hmmmm...did you feel irritated?
I feel fine (well, except for achy) and it's only that one spot
