my first post as a mommy! Bottles and nipples?

I can't believe I'm actually posting on this board as a mommy now!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon My beautiful son was bon last week and I have a question...I am formula feeding and in the hospital he had no trouble at all sucking the nipples they provided...he was already up to about 3.5-4 ounces when we left (He is a very big boy!!)
Since we've been home I have been using my bottles with the slow 0-3 month nipples I purchased..they are evenflo brand...he seems to be struggling getting the formula out but when I look at other nipples it says they are designed for 3-6 months. He seems to be taking less formula and its almost like he gets tired of sucking since not a lot comes out.....I go to the pediatrician for first visit tomorrow but just wondering if you ladies may have some insight....my husband is thiking of going to babies r us today and searching out new nipples...although we also tried the playtex drop ins and those were no better...any ideas??

Congratulations!!!

I'd try either advents, even their stage 1 nip is a faster flow. Also try dr browns too.

I went through so many bottles with my 2nd, the worst were the evenflo's and ventaires with flow-way tooo slow for DD.

Try the next step up nipple. Every baby is different; I always just used the manufacturer's recommendations as a guide, not the end all be all. It wouldn't hurt to try it.

Congratulations!! I would try the next step up too. Then you could always research other nipples. Chat Icon

I bfed, but when we put in bottles, we didnt like the drop in nipples, our dd had such a hard time with. I use now dr. browns silicone nipples and she seems to be doing really well with.
