my good deed for today
one of my congregants asked me to translate her husband's grandparent's ketubah from 1891. (a ketubah is a jewish wedding contract)
the document was falling apart and fading, but still legible.
desciphering the aramaic was a challenge as was trying to read the scribbled and fading hebrew of the handwritten names, but i did it!!!!
she will be so excited when i call her monday to let her know i finished it.
