Re: my gym and getting sick
Kids get sick from being around other kids that are sick, so I'm sure it has nothing to do with the actual venue. Hope your DC feels better soon

Re: my gym and getting sick
DS has had colds but its hard to tell if its from Gymboree or not. Its only natural they'll pick up things from other kids. Theres really no avoiding it unless you keep them in the house!!

Re: my gym and getting sick
I've been doing Gymboree with DS twice a week for ages now... he might have picked up a cold from there once or twice, but honestly the VAST majority of illnesses he's had have actually come from me or DH, lol.
Try to clean her hands (either with a wipe or Purell) right after the class, esp before you give her any snacks or drinks. Also since it's a mommy-and-me type activity (not drop-off), I admit I have redirected DS from toys that I saw another kid just put in his mouth, or from a kid who clearly had a runny nose or cough. But not to the point that it ruined his fun or anything. At the end of the day I thought the socialization was worth the germ exposure, and I am a TOTAL germaphobe, lol.

Re: my gym and getting sick
My DD has been going to My Gym for over a year and has only been sick 2x in her 2 years of life. I'm sure there are germs like anywhere else. I don't think there is anyway to avoid that.

Re: my gym and getting sick
We've been in My Gym classes (and others) since my DS was born 4 years ago. Neither of my kids has ever gotten sick. *knock on wood* I would just be sure to wash their hands after you go and use a little antibacterial (Bath adn Body works has cute little kinds for kids I use for my kids).

Re: my gym and getting sick
DS went once to Gymboree and once to Once Upon a Tree Top.
He got sick twice. But he catches everything.
Some kids go there all the time and don't catch anything.
It could be a coincidence or it could be that someone brought a sick child.
