My hair keeps falling out.

My hair is long and my hair has always been all over the place but recently, I feel like I am losing a lot of it. I didn't mention this to anyone out of fear that I was going bald. Recently I overheard another mother saying her hair was falling out as well. Is this common for BF moms? If so, when does it stop?

I started losing tons of hair 10-12 weeks PP. It's back to normal now (DS is 5 1/2 months) but this went on for quite a while. My hair was literally everywhere.

both kids my hair fell out from about 4-7 months PP

It's because you lose very little hair while you are pregnant. Did your hair seem thicker than usual while pg? Well, now your hormones are returning to their normal levels and you are shedding the excess hair.

A few weeks pp my DH installed a separate dust buster just for our bathroom He said he could make a whole new me from the amount of hair I shed

When you get regrowth you will find some short hairs sticking up here and there... they are fun I always had to smooth some down near my part.

ETA: My stylist said for some women it takes up to a year for their hair to return to the same thickness and texture

i've heard that it's common to lose hair post-partum, regardless of whether or not you're BFing. it's due to the hormonal changes as far as i know.

I am 6 months PP and my hair is still falling out by the handful! It isn't related to breastfeeding though, you are shedding the hair that didn't fa;; out when you were PG

I lost literally HALF of my hair...it was terrible..
I JUST NOW have almost all of it back....DS is 20 months....
