my immaturity knows no bounds
I have never tried oysters. They just don't appeal to me.
So tonight when the boyfriend ordered some, he offered one to me. I was skeptical because the consistency and smell seemed unappealing but I tried it.
I must have turned colors. "Swallow it. Please swallow it." I shook my head no frantically. "Please do not spit it out on your plate."
I felt like Tom Hanks in Big eating caviar.
I ran from the table to the bathroom to spit it out in a wad of paper towels and rinsed my mouth for 5 minutes.
I told my mom this story and she's like, "And to think you're old enough to HAVE kids."

reminded me of the first time i tried sushi at 16!! couldnt swallow it, just a big bunch of rice and fish puffing my cheeks out. I spit it into a tissue.
i also tried oysters once, and only once

I will not eat anything that looks or smells like bait i have put on a fishing hook  I give you props for getting that far...i would've spit that sucker out onto his lap!

WOW, i would not have gone as far as you did! we had a work event at an oyster bar and people were doing oyster shooters... a partner i'm friendly with "insisted" that i partake so i faked it and then passed it off to a friend

I did the same thing in front of my in-laws the first time I tried clams. Oysters will NOT be on my menu any time soon.
