My Level II results...a little worrisome
I had my Level II last week. The baby looks fine, is measuring well, etc. We opted not to find out the gender (even though I almost caved!)
BUT there were two things that weren't perfect. First, there's a choroid plexus cyst - which is apparently a pretty common abnormality found in the spinal fluid that often disappears on its own later in the pregnancy. My Dr. didn't think an amnio was required since my blood work came back good.
But my Dr. WAS concerned that I had placenta previa (placenta is too low and blocks birth canal). When I heard him say that I almost fell over - I was so surprised because I was feeling so good. But apparently, the condition can either resolve itself later in pregnancy as the uterus grows, OR if I start bleeding, I have to go on bedrest and have a C-section. I cannot do any exercise, lifting, sex, etc. I have practically been tip-toeing around ever since.
Did anyone have this or know someone that did? If so how did things turn out?

Re: My Level II results...a little worrisome
One of my closest friends was diagnosed with placenta previa. She was required to abstain, no exercise and couldn't lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. The previa ended up going away on its own - I want to say around 28 - 30 weeks. She's fine now and is expecting to try to deliver vaginally.
Best of luck!!

Re: My Level II results...a little worrisome
I don't know much about placetna previa but our baby was diagnosed with a cpc and they sent us for another level II sono with a fetal maternity specialist ....it scared the crap out of us while we waited for the appt but it wound up disappearing for the 2nd sono.....they are very very common and as long as everything else seems fine, nothing to worry about - essentially they are just a blister or small fluid sac tht forms..they are pretty common but only sometimes are "caught" on sonos.....

Re: My Level II results...a little worrisome
I had placenta previa....
I was put on pelvic rest (no sex) and no lifting until 32 weeks.... which at that time they did another sono, and it fixed itself....
Take care of yourself and you should be fine!

Re: My Level II results...a little worrisome
Both of our babies have the cysts - doctor said b/c of our bloodwork all coming back negative there is a less than 1% chance anything is wrong. I he is right!!!! We go back in 3 weeks to find out. Has for the placent previa, I think that's kind of common (at least I thought) - did they give you specific things what to do or what not to do?

Re: My Level II results...a little worrisome
MY SIL had PP. She had a severe case and ended up on bed rest in the hospital from 30-37 weeks. She is a SAHM so it didn't affect them too badly and she got a lot of rest and online shopping done. They took my nephew by c-section at week 37 and he is a healthy and happy 2 1/2 yr old. Her Dr told her she shoudl have her tubes tied because of the PP and that it could happen again which she has since found out is not true. So Make sure you do your research related to that if your Dr gives you any advice. Good luck!

Re: My Level II results...a little worrisome
my doctor told me that my placenta was also very low however 99% of the time, it resolves itself. My sisternlaw was told that she had this as well and everything turned out fine. The doctor said that the worst case scenario would be a C section

OMG that sounds a little extreme to get your tubes tied because of PP!

Re: My Level II results...a little worrisome
I was also told I had PP at my level II. Did the doctor say it was complete or partial?
I was told to go back for a sono at 30-32 weeks, but most likely it will move. I'm not worried b.c honestly there are so many worse things you can hear, at least this is manageable.

I have partial. I read it can sometimes be caused by previous uterus surgery and scarring, which I had less than a month before I conceived. I'm going back at 28 weeks for another sono to see if it moves...I'm just so paranoid right now, checking for blood every 2 seconds, not wanting to go anywhere or do anything!

Re: My Level II results...a little worrisome
I had both. Not kidding. My DD had a cyst at 20 weeks and it did go away and i had placenta previa and it moved slowly at around 32 week. If you have any questions feel free to FM me. We went to genetic counseling for the cyst and to LIJ for follow up sonos and advice so i know a lot about both issues. Best of luck and know that you are not alone. I know it is so tough to hear any unexpected news about your little one and it makes you feel so helpless but try to stay calm and relax. You need to take it easy if you have placenta previa, i ended up spotting as the placenta started to move from over doing it and then i ended up on bed rest, so be careful and listen to your Dr. and your body.
