My mom claims the baby will whack his head on the aquarium thing...

Do u think so?

Should it not be there right from the beginning?

I didn't read an age on it- there prob was one but I assumed (maybe stupidly) that it goes in the crib from the beginning.

DS never did until he was sitting up (and never very hard).

You do have to install it a certain # of inches above the mattress so their head doesn't get stuck.

And install it where it's easy to get to because that thing goes through batteries very very quickly!

In the instruction manual it will tell you how many inches it needs to be above the mattress. We couldn't use it until we lowered the mattress.

Well DH has a huge azz head, so maybe I will have to wait for the baby to get here to see just how many inches I should leave!

We didn't use ours until the baby was older, if your baby can't sit up, odds are he won't knock his head on it!

DD has had it in her crib since she was born and now is 2 and had never whacked her head on it. Chat Icon

Not until they are sitting up or pulling up could I see that happening. Even then...I highly doubt they will knock themselves out...if anything they'll learn not to move around near it.

I put mine at the end of the crib and DD never had a problem with it.

that has been in my DD 's crib since day one and she's never wacked her head on it. Now she's rolling and sitting up and pulling herself up and knows that its there.

My son never hit his head on it, however, once your baby figures how to turn it on you will have to take it out of the crib. my son would wake up at 2am and put that thing on and it would wake me up. SO ANNOYING!!!! But prior to that, he did really like it and it calmed him down a lot!

Ours didn't become a problem until Kaydyn was sitting up. She would roll and smack her head on it and get upset. But she loved it up until then. It was probably around 7-8 months when we took it out.

Mine is in the middle of the crib, the way it is in the picture. Yes, DD has whacked her head on it more times than I can even count...but she has lived to tell the tale. Chat Icon

ETA: We still have it in there, and she's almost 14 months.
