My Mom is driving me nuts with all this stuff
about the shots and autism. I understand her point about all the hype about it but, she thinks we shouldn't give John anymore shots. He is going for his 12 month shots on Friday. So my question is, did anyone not give any shots too their children because of all the talk of autism and so on?

There have been even MORE studies done recently that show there is no direct link between Autism and vaccines. I see no reason not to vaccinate your child for diseases that could potentially kill them, IMO. But I do believe this is a personal decision that needs to be discussed with your doctor.

Re: My Mom is driving me nuts with all this stuff
DS just turned a year last week. We took him on Sat. for his shot. We split the MMR so, he had the measles round. So far, other than that, we have been keeping him on schedule. We go back in a month for round 2 of the MMR.

I have not read anything that convinces me that immunizations cause autism
my dd has and will continue to get her shots based on the recommended schedule

I did not follow my ped's schedule. I have always delayed the shots and gave them on my terms. Andrew has not recvd the MMR yet. I feel he was and is too small to get all these shots all together so I spread them out.

I agree! There's some research that just came out that is pointing towards genetics.
There no mercury or thermisol in vaccines anymore, hasn't been for YEARS and autism rates are still rising and being diagnosed.
Just be informed, Do your own current research and speak to your PED.
I didn't delay or opt out of any vaccines for my kids, benefits FAR outweigh any kind of risk.

Exactly, it was the thermisol in the shots that was linked to mercury. I believe that the flu shot was the one that had small traces of thermisol in it. Now most shoots are free of thermisol. My PED said that they do not make shots with it anymore.
