My mother cut DS' hair!!!!
after I specifically told her not to do it at least a dozen times.
I, HIS MOTHER, get to decide when DS gets his first haircut!!!!
I could kill her!!
DH and I LOVED his hair. It was so beautiful and his "trademark".
And she knew what she did was wrong because she had this sheepish look on her face when I came to pick him up like the cat that swallowed the bird.
She called and apologized later that night and said she would never do it again but the damage is done.
Oh, and I bought his a superman costume for halloween. He had thick black hair that we were going to slick back and curl in the front just like Superman.

Ah yes...my MIL cut my DD's hair when she was around 18-20 mos. She was crafty about it, but I just knew it looked different. Once DD could talk a bit clearer, she actually TOLD me "Grandma J.." cut her hair. I brought it up and to THIS day, she still makes excuses ("Oh, I think she was remembering when I brushed her hair.." etc. etc.) and denies it!!!
I've been there!!

If my mother ever had the nerve to do something like that she would not be allowed to see him for quite a while. Unbelievable just how many rights grandmas seem to think they have nowadays.
I'm sorry you had to have that happen. I'd be fuming too.

That's terrible
But, as for your mother-at least she called to apologize. I hope that means that she is not making any excuses for what she did and really regrets it. If she really seems contrite, I would forgive. If she didn't, I would br really ticked.

The same exact thing happened to me. I spedicifically told my mom not to cut DD's bangs as I am trying to grow them out. I come home one night from work and they are short (and uneven at that!)
My mom got an earful from me that night!!!
