Re: My mother is getting married again at 48 ???? Help
I'm a little confused about the Maid of Honor. She asked your son to be her Maid of Honor? I, also, don't understand why she hasn't seen her grandchild who was born over three months and why she wasn't at the Christening. Do you live a great distance from her? As a grandparent, I would have to say, that would be the only excuse, short of one foot in the grave, why I would not be at the Christening and why I would not be in my grandchild's life.
That said, it seems that your mom is pretty wrapped up in her own life to give yours much thought. Her asking you and your family to be in the wedding may be her way of extending an olive branch. Somehow, I don't get that feeling from what you've written. If it were me, I would attend the wedding, but, not be in the wedding party. You could, always, give the excuse of finances being tight with the new baby. It doesn't appear that you are particularly close with your mom. That's ashame, but, you know what, that street goes both ways. She just can't pick and choose when she wants to be in your life. Either she is or she isn't and she can't use you and your family as window dressing for her wedding.

I've been in a similar situation... you cannot change your mother. She isn't going to be around forever, I know she's young now- but one day she wont' be here. I know that is harsh, but my parents do stupid crap alllll the time that I don't agree with- and that is how I look at it- one day, they aren't going to be here- and this isn't going to matter. My dad has done a lot of stupid stuff I don't agree with that I won't write here- but way worse than getting married 3 times....(although he's on wife #3 right now)- but I accept our relationship for what it is. I doubt your mom is doing anything to hurt you- even though that is the end result- I say you try and open the lines of communication in an un-accusing type of way and be in the wedding..

Honestly, what should you do now? Stop posting about your mom and start dealing with her in real life. That might make this situation a little better, no?
