My new fear/worry/obsession
Okay, so I've posted before about how Maddie refuses the bottle. So the other night she took the bottle and I was thrilled (Dr. Brown's wide neck, level 2 nipple). But then today she REFUSED it again. What happens if I get sick and can't BFeed or if something happens to my milk supply? How long will she go before she takes a bottle? TIA!

Re: My new fear/worry/obsession
all 3 of my kids have never taken bottles. If something happens and they are hungry enough, they will eat. Did you try having someone else give her the bottle?

My DH and mom have both tried. I try to hide and after a few minutes of her crying, we give up. It would just be nice if she took it so I could sleep a little and let my DH feed her when he's off

Re: My new fear/worry/obsession
Starting around 7 weeks I think, DH took DD into her nursery with a bottle to try to get her to take a pumped bottle. They would both literally come out sweating, he worked so hard--- bouncing, shhhhhhing, rocking, everything. I couldn't even be within her sight. It took a good week or so for her to accept it, but she did finally do it, thankfully! Thank goodness DH has a lot of patience & was determined.

Re: My new fear/worry/obsession
My DD took a bottle from 4 weeks to 11 weeks (about 3 times a week, I was EBFing). Then one day, out of the blue, she refused the bottle. I returned to work when DD was 4 months ... she was fed with a DROPPER while I was at work, but we kept trying the bottle (we tried *EVERYTHING*) ... she FINALLY took a bottle 3 weeks ago - 12 weeks after her initial refusal!!
Not sure of my point here ... but if my DD takes a bottle now, I'm pretty sure there is hope for all babies.

That's what I said to my husband, that she'd have to be fed with a dropper. But good news, this morning she took 3 1/2 ounces from DH while I was sleeping. He said it was hard work, but she finally took it. I guess we have to be persistent. What kind of bottle did your DD finally take?

That's excellent!! DD finally took the Soothie bottle, but to be honest, I don't think it was the bottle - just a matter of timing (and which bottle happened to be offered at that time!).
