My official word on the Occidental Grand Aruba

We just returned a few days ago from the Occidental. Appearance wise - BEAUTIFUL. The rooms are neat & sparkling Mr. Clean clean. The lobby is gorgeous. Supposedly it was a dive when it was the Allegro - but the millions (billions?) they put into this hotel was totally worth it! The specialty all-inclusive restaurants were SPECTACULAR. The buffet was mediocre - standard buffet food. Eggs, bacon, omlettes, etc.....
Beach and pool areas were immaculate and attractive.
The only thing they have to improve upon is the service. House keeping came and removed all our towels without replacing them. We called down for them Chat Icon and they didn't pick up the phone. Finally they answered, however, the towels arrived in our room after dinner. Once they improve their service (all around) this place is ideal for honeymooners or for an awesome romantic getaway. Not recommended for kids too much. Overall, there is construction EVERYWHERE in Aruba. So just double check with whatever hotel you're goin to to make sure there isn't any construction going on.
Also, do that kukukanuku bus bar hopping tour. I had a BLAST - met a lot of awesome people and was so glad we did this!
It rained like HECK our last day (which we booked our ATV tour- they cancelled that) I heard that's a lot of fun - but we didn't get to do that. We did rent a car (got SO lost on our way to Baby Beach to snorkel and the Flying Fishbone to eat) - both were amazing and made our trip even more memorable.

Sounds great!! I can't believe it rained there. It rarely does.

My sister is moving there in Nov. Her boyfriend that lives there owns a ATV tour and a famous restaurant there. Maybe that is the ATV tour you were going to go onChat Icon
