what are other BC methods besides the pill and the patch?

i hate taking the pill because for some reason i always feel like i'm "choking" on those tiny little pills and i was on the patch but have heard horrible things about it and am scared to go back on.

also i noticed with the pill and patch i had a very very low s3x drive.

I didn't want to go on the pill again so if we decide to use anything...it will be condoms. Right now, if we get pregnant, I wouldn't be unhappy about it.

I didn't want to go on the BCP anymore either, so I did a lot of research and decided on the Mirena IUD. I am very happy with it - nothing to remember, nothing to remove, after a little getting used to, my period is very light and only 3 days....

The best thing is that I don't have to have it in for 5 years. If I decide to have another child, I get it out and my fertility return immediately.

My SIL is on nuva ring and loves it. She had trouble with the pill and other options her doc siad this was a good option for peopple who don't like the pill. Good luck!!!

i had the mirena but had it removed. i bled for 6 months straight.

I absolutely love my Mirena IUD. I have had no side effects and actually have a sex drive! It's so much better than the hormonal stuff.

I was on Nuvaring for 1 month and had really bad headaches. Also the clotting risk is greater on the ring for some reason. I wanted to like this but unfortunately didn't

My doctor suggested an IUD. I didn't go for it, but from everything I've read on it sounds like one of the best options.

I've never heard anyone else say they choke on those little pills! After I take them, no matter how much water I drink they still feel like they're there!

if i was not planning on getting pregnant again, I'd go with an IUD, but its expensive to use for only a couple of years, o we're going with condoms. no more BCP or hormones for me.

I tried the NuvaRing after my 6 week checkup. The doctor recommended it and said that it is very low-dose so it should have less side effects then the pill, plus you don't have to worry about taking it every day so it ends up being more effective bc there isn't so much human error.

Well, let me tell you that was the BIGGEST mistake ever!! My sex drive dropped immediately, I was moody/irritable -- and the doctor told me to just take one out and put the new one right in if I wanted to get rid of my periods or decrease them and the month that I did that I never stopped bleeding. I bled for just over a month before getting my period again and realizing man, I've been bleeding on and off for a month now, and then I stopped using it and never used it again. It was horrible. It also took me a few months for my sex drive to return.

Now we just PNP but I have thought about the IUD. We'll probably just PNP until we want to get pregnant again which will probably be in another 1-2 years and then after that I'll do something like the IUD.

Dh wanted to try the PNP method but since I got my period while EBF only 4.5wks pp I can't help but think I must be fertile myrtile and will probably go on the mini pill. I'm not happy about doing the hormone thing again but DH throws temper tantrums when we use condoms which takes the fun out of it so it's not worth the headache.

What about a diaphram?
