My Own Spinoff: I feel like a freak show when I go out!!!

Ok so if you read my other post, Summer was right on the money when she mentioned the looks I must get when I go out.

I've been out for about a week now, because I can't sit in the house all day.

People do not leave me alone.

It never fails

"Oh my god, he's so little..how old is he?" 3 weeks

"Oh he must be a preemie he's so tiny. How much did he weigh?" Sort of..he was a month early. He weighs 5 lbs 5 oz now.

"Is she yours?" Yes this is my daughter (hello why would I be pushing a double stroller??)

"How old is she?" 10 mths

Funny face time... (am i a freak???)

"Oh you are crazy. Have your husband stay away from you right now" My son WAS planned.

"OOOHHH..good luck"



I can't go into a store without 20 people bothering me. You would think I was the only one in the world with 2 under 1!!! I can't wait till august when she turns one because then maybe it won't be soo bad!!!!!!

I can only imagine the comments you get!

Now that mine are close in size we get a lot of people asking if they are twins. Recently DH took them for a walk and an older lady stopped him.

Lady: How cute! Are they twins?
DH: No, they are about a year and a half apart.
Lady: Wow, her speaking skills are much better than his.
DH: Well, I guess that's because she's a year and a half older than him.

i know how you feel...i used to get the same looks and comments every where I went!
(my 2 are 11 months apart)

All i EVER heard from the time I 1st started showing till now is
"wow you sure are gonna have your hands full"
"youre CRAZY!" and "was that planned?"
umm...thanks!
i mean really...would you EVER ask someone that?????!
I used to just shake my head and say,"I know, Im crazy!" but then realized, why do I have to explain myself to total RUDE strangers!
And personally, I LOVE the fact that my 2 are so close...to me,its easier because they play with eachother all day long!
Just ignore them and be proud-you have 2 healthy beautiful babies!!

I know the feeling . when I take my boys out, it is the same thing, EVERYONE comes over. They ask, how do you take them out all by yourself??

I was at Sam's a few weeks ago, and the lady that worked there was obsessed with my boys, and screams to her co-worker in the other islae..."Hey Marge, look at these twins coming!"
EVERYONE at Sam's Club turned their heads

It's so funny that you mentioned this because my mom was just telling me the other day that this was her life for years... she had 3 girls all under the age of 4. She said she would get some of the nastiest looks from women, like how dare you have so many children all so young.

I'm not a mother, but even if I was, I still don't think I'd understand that.

Mine are 17 months apart - I get the same looks and reactions from some people. Occasionally, I'll run into someone who had DC close in age, and they will give me words of advice or encouragement - I always appreciate that.

People are a bunch of, well, idiots sometimes.

Today at camp, a woman stopped me and gave me this loud lecture on how to carry my son (who is also tiny...he weighed 5 lbs. 9oz. at birth). She demanded I buy/use an infant carrier carseat (I am unable to carry such a contraption witha child in it) and told me how awful it was for me to have him resting on my shoulder! (really lady, b/c in the NICU, they had no problem with it! ) I was polite since there were so many kids around, but if it had been a more adult location...she would've heard what I really thought of her! If she had paid attention, she would've realized he was on my shoulder tucked under my chin to block out the sun. If he'd been on his back, the sun (in all its 93° glory) would've been right in his face. People s uck. Next time I'll hunt her down and use the "football" hold...that will probably really kill her.

Mine are 22 months apart - a very decent time between the two. The comment I used to get was

"Wow! You're brave!"

and

"Two in diapers?!"
