My pocketbook is missing....UPDATE - I really think it was stolen...
I am a dip, and always leave my pocketbook in the car. Usually it is because I'm getting home with the baby and can't carry her plus whatever groceries I'm coming in with up the stairs all at the same time to our upstairs apartment.
Last night, like many nights, I left my pocketbook in my car.
Dh went out there looking all over for it because I am sick and my antibiotics were in there, and he couldn't find it anywhere. He says that he scoured the car.
Now my FIL has my car because he's borrowing it for the day, he took it this morning. I am freaking out that I can't go down there and look through the car for my bag, I don't know how it can be missing.
My DH thinks maybe I left it at the store last night by accident but that can't be because I was able to take my phone in the house with me when I came upstairs last night, and it was in my bag.
Please send some bag finding vibes! Luckily there's no cash in it (like $7) since I'm broke, and I don't even have an ATM card, so it would just be my driver's license, insurance cards, etc. tat would need to be replaced, but I'm still freaking out!
UPDATE: Well, my FIL brought my car back and Ilooked all through it, the bag definately isn't there. I went to Pathmark which was the one stop I went last night, looked all through the carts in the parking lot, asked at the front desk, and nothing turned up.
The more I think about it the more convinced I am that someone took it from outside the house. I wouldn't have my cell unless the bag came home with me, since my cell was in the bag. I remember putting the interior light on to look through the bag and find the cell.
There are always teenage kids walking up and down my block since there is a school a few houses down and they go there to hang out on the playground, so I'm thinking one of them probably took it. I remember hearing an alarm going off last night but I was playing with the baby and didn't check to see if it was mine, and it ended up going off. My Land lords always set their alarm off because her remote start is screwy, so I just didn't think anything of it.
I just have to be thankful that I didn't have a lot of money in it or credit cards or anything like that. Maybe they ditched it and some nice person will return it. Otherwise, I guess life goes on.
Moral of the story ---- don't leave your pocketbook in the car, even if you have a ton of things to carry up...
Grr.....

Re: My pocketbook is missing....
I looked all over the apartment for it. It's definately not in here.
I just don't understand it. I remember getting the baby out of the back seat and looking in the front seat and seeing it on the floor before going upstairs.
But then again, you know when you do the SAME thing every day, and you lose track of whether or not you did it THAT day? Maybe I'm just remembering doing it another day.
I have to give Pathmark a call to see if someone handed it in. I could have SWORN that I left there with it, but maybe I did leave it in the cart.
I hate this!

Re: My pocketbook is missing....
Maybe you should call Mastercard, Visa...whomever..to see if anything has been charged since last night. That might help you find a faster answer than waiting all day for your FIL to give the car back.

I don't have any credit cards in it---I only have one credit card and it's in my big wallet that I don't usually take in my bag with me.
I called Pathmark, where I was last night, just to double check that noone handed it in and they said noone did....
