my poor tummy is all black and blue
from the shots this time. 
Last night I must have really butchered myself with the follistim pen because this morning the bruise is the size of a quarter!
I was at the doctor's today and I forgot to ask if I can switch to doing it my thigh...there is more fat there and maybe it won't be so painful because my stomach has had enough of the needles!!
Hopefully the IUI is on Saturday and then I can be needle free for a while.

If it is a subcutanoeous shot you can do it in your thigh..at least you can with lovenox-double check but I'm pretty sure you can. I can tell you it hurts MUCH worse. For me anyway. GL!

when you do it make sure you don't push down too hard when the needle is in. also, which i am sure you do, you can switch sides. I also have very little fat in my stomach and this is what i did. I bruised the first time because i pushed too hard so from then on I was a lot more gentle.

You can do it in the thigh if you want. I bruised a little, as well. I found that once the needle was in to push gently.

Thanks for mentioning that.. I was going to switch to my thigh tonight. Only two days in and my belly is all bruised up. This self injecting really hard for me, and while I've done it the past two nights myself, I think DH is going to take this over. Everyone has told me once the first one is out of the way and done, it's easier. But quite frankly last night I was a mess. I just had to keep telling myself over and over that this was the only way I was going to become a mommy
