My PSA/letter to Kelly Ripa...
Dear Kelly...
As a mother, I would like to ask you what kind of message you are trying to send to your daughter and all the other little girls that look up to you and see you on TV. I watch your show and listen to you complain about how "fat" you are and how you would "LOVE to have arms like so and so" or "have abs like whats-her-name"....What are you complaining about?????
Where I completely understand the desire to be physically fit and in shape, I do NOT understand your obsession.
I see you in my spin class almost every time I am there and I have to say, you look horrible. You are a very attractive woman, I do not understand your need to be the skinniest person on the planet. Your head is beginning to take over your entire body. You are all bones.
So my message to you is this...lay off the workouts a little bit, eat a cheeseburger and enjoy your millions.

Honestly- people like that are bordering on an eating disorder... it's sad.

Many years ago....when she first started AMC, she was shapely...I want to say baby fat -along those lines---and I will agree that she has become a bobble head ! But I remember watching AMC and thinking Haley is chubby and has a boyfriend- not sure if chubby is the right word, but she is now a stick figure!

she has taken it to an extreme level
for awhile she looked good- but she is too skinny now
I saw her in person about 6 years ago
she is TINY IRL- shorter then me and I am 5'2 on a good day

You should send that! I don't watch the show but it's terrible that she can't see what she is doing to herself or worse, her daughter. I had a friend who was always very very obsessed with her weight, not just wanting lose some weight or dieting but just obsessing and talking about it endlessly. Her daughter was young then and I said she should watch how much she talks about it. Her daughter ended up with an eating disorder at 15 and was hospitalized several times with anorexia. I'm not saying it caused the anorexia or that every child would end up in the same place as a result of having that influence, but it can't help. It has been very sad to watch the daughter. She's going to college in 2 weeks and she still doesn't really have a handle on it.

went to see her show in may...she really is way too thin...
and it looks like lately she is just getting thinner. definitely doesnt look good anymore!

Yeah she is thin but I can't see this sending a bad message to young girls. It is on at 9am when kids are in school and it is not a show for little kids.
I think she is just trying to relate to all of us that watch her show. And maybe she really isn't happy with her body, who cares? I don't know many people fit, fat, or otherwise that are truly happy with their body.
