My public school is starting uniforms next year.
While I don?t have children in the school district yet, I think its a pretty good idea. I am shocked that some many parents voted yes, usually many parents I have heard speak about this disagrees with uniforms.
Do any others children's School have this?
Also the uniforms are not very strict. For pants its black dress pants, or regular or blue khakis, also jeans on Friday. Then for shirts it has to be a plain black, blue, yellow or gray and they must be tucked in. Girls are allowed to wear skirts if it comes to the knee.

Think it's great!! Less bullying over clothing, who has what, who can afford what, etc. Wish our district did it!

I am all for a school uniform. When my DC get to be school age, I would be happy if they were required to wear a uniform.

My godson is in the Brentwood Elementary district and they do this.
It's not a requirement but it's recommended and a lot of parents do it. I think it's a great idea.

My children wear uniforms since they go to a Catholic school - plaid ties and jumpers and all! I have no issues with it at all and love it!
What you describe is a dress code, which I am also for! My best friends' kids have a dress code, where they can wear khaki pants or shorts and a red, white or navy collared top.

sounds reasonable.
I disagree with its specific uniforms. My daughter's school used to require a certain brand of plaid and color combination with the school logo sewn in. THAT gets expensive!
Hopefully this year coming up they'll be just color requirements instead. I can live with that.
Cause I got an email for like two pairs of stuff (7 items in all) for $175.. USED!
