My Saturday - from start to finish. . . I can sorta laugh now.

My saturday - from start to finish:

1. 8:30 - DH, DD and I head out to house to see the paint job we were told was "finished except for a few touch ups."

2. 9:30 - I'm on the phone with painter asking why none of the door jams were painted, why two doors were not painted, and what his definition of "touch ups" is because there is still tons to do.

3. 9:45 - I call the painter back and start screaming at him because our radiator covers were spraypainted ON OUR DECK with NO DROPCLOTH and there is white paint everywhere.

4. 10:15 - I have to calm down DD who started crying after hearing her mother scream at someone on the phone

5. 11-1pm DH and I are scrubbing the kitchen (DD is with my parents), trying to clean up all the plaster and crap that is in the kitchen

6. 1pm - I unwrap our couch delivered from JC Penney.com only to find a rip in it. This is the couch they never called us to schedule a delivery on - and were just going to leave on our lawn last week.

7. 1:20 - 2:30 - parents take DH and I out to lunch because my dad thinks I'm going to kill someone.

8. 3pm - back at our apartment and I'm on the phone with Home Depot regarding our carpet installation - which they tell me has now been delayed until the last week of March.

9. 3:15-3:20 - me on the bed crying

10. 3:30-4pm - DH takes DD on a walk through the neighborhood - I take a bath

11. 6:30pm - I feel as though I havent accomplished anything and decide to head BACK to the house to continue painting the basement. (the painters werent contracted to paint the basement - it's the one room we are doing ourselves)

12. 7:15 - arrive at house to find out that the painters have taken my 12 rollers. I am left with one small paintbrush to paint an 800sf basement.

13. 7:15 - drive to home depot (wearing white sweatpants, an old sweatshirt, no makeup, flip flops and my hair hasnt been brushed.

14. 7:35pm back at house with new rollers, begin work.

15. 10:30pm - satisfied with amount of painting I got done - I clean up and go to the bathroom before I leave. . .

and realize that my period came early and have stained my WHITE sweatpants.

11:15 - walk in door of apartment - DH takes one look at me, walks into bathroom - starts running the water for another bath, and hands me a glass of wine.

I swear I'm not doing anything house related today!

I'm so sorry you had one of "those" days, but I have to admit it is hysterical and nice to know i'm not alone

Oh wow. I'd lose it if I had a day like that! I know it really blows to wait for things to be done - especially when it takes longer than you were promised.

I just got the last major piece of furniture needed to 'complete' the house on Friday. We've been here for three months.

Now we finally have a kitchen table and chairs. Even though I ordered the 5 piece set in the wrong colors and the two extra chairs in the right colors. So now I have to return two chairs and get two of the wrong color because I'm just too tired to deal with Sears anymore.

I'm feeling your pain. It will be worth it in the end though. And when all is said and done, make sure you give a review of these painters here, to ensure other people don't have to go through it too.

WOW - you went through a lot!!! Lucky your husband was there waiting with the wine and not a list of more stuff to do!!

Holy Cr*P!!! I would've lost it! Good for you for keeping it (mostly) cool!

Glad DH did right by you when you got home. Mine probably would've told me to chill out.
