My sister is making me... (UPDATE with picture)
....A beautiful Fertility Bracelet. I saw a post on IF for the jewlery and my sister said she could get all the stones and make me one for a fraction of the price so we went today and got some stuff to start making it. I still haven't found a turtle charm and we need to go to Beads n Stitches tommorow to look for one. If not we will order it online. But we got these beads....(I copied some descriptions about the stones onto here. I don't usually do this whole wierd stone thing.. but I'll try anthing now)
-Rose quartz (the love stone) - helps achieve emotional balance and brings positive energy to relationships. It is also known for enhancing sexual well-being and promoting confidence. I also read that it promotes healthy pregnancy and prevents Miscarriage. I love this part because "WHEN" I get Pg I can still wear it.
-Moonstone (the feminine stone) - has long been associated with women and their cycles. Specifically, moonstone, which has a soft internal glow much like the moon, helps balance menstrual hormones and soothe stress and anxiety.
-Aventurine (the earth stone) - represents the healing powers of Mother Earth. Green aventurine promotes fertility, prosperity, and good luck for those who wear it, and is said to have a stabilizing and calming effect.
-Freshwater Pearls- These are the most closely tied gems to fertility. Since oysters are natures aphrodisiac, it would seem that the pearl would also contain some of those properties. Lastly, it is thought that since it requires patience and time to create a pearl, just like the patience and time required to create a baby, is why the pearl is so powerful to fertility
-Turtle: Turtles are a potent symbol of both protection and fertility.
-Butterfly: This is for my miscarriage. .To the Greeks the butterfly was the symbol of the soul, and it was believed that each butterfly was a human soul searching for a new incarnation. The Celts also believed that butterflies were new souls seeking life. They believed that a woman became pregnant by swallowing these tiny butterfly souls. Early Christians also believed that the butterfly was a powerful symbol of the soul.
It looks so pretty! I still have to add the turtle charm. I think I will put it right next to the toggle clasp.

I was going to buy one online, but they cost so much! Let me know how yours comes out - I was going to go and buy some beads today (the same ones you had talked about actually) and a turtle charm, but I have no idea how to do beading! Hope it works for you!

Overall We spent about 15 dollars but we didn't even use most of the beads. We bought way too much. But my sister already had the metal spacers and the pearls and the wires and tools. We literally bought a whole strand of each bead and with the pearl, moonstone and quartz we only used two of the beads. I guess if you used less types of bead syou could keep the cost down. We used these little bars with loops on them for each section because my sister had the tools for that but I think you could use wire and just string on the beads and it would look really nice. You could even use the elastic stuff and make a streachy bracelet. I think you could still keep the cost under 15 dollars. I will let you know where I find a turtle charm because AC Moore and Micheals did not have any. I think Beads and Stitches will. If not I will get it online.

I love it. It's pretty and I love the meaning/symbolism behind each bead/stone.
May it bring you a shorter road of nothing but health and happiness as you TTC.

Okay I found a turtle at Beads and Stiches. There is a website for them telling you where they are. I think they are in Hicksville and Bellmore. THe turtle was 3.50$ and was the most expensive thing on the bracelet so really that is not bad. It is really cute. My sister is coming over tonight to attach it and I will post the finished product picture. HTH

Re: My sister is making me... (UPDATE with picture)
I made one last week. It has rose quartz and moonstone. I'm going to re-do it with a butterfly, and go & get a turtle. Beading is a hobby of mine.
I might even put my Saint Gerard medal on it.
Yours is very pretty.

Thank you. Beware my quest for a turtle was quite lengthy and frustrating!! I would love to see a picture of yours!
