My sisters are too funny about this baby thing...
...and rather impatient. My family is overdue for a new baby/grandchild/niece/nephew.
Apparently, my sisters have already selected large baby-themed wall hangings that they plan on needlepointing assuming I have a boy someday soon. I think that is pretty sweet. I guess they dont think I could possibly have a girl. 
They are also trying to figure out the likelihood of boy vs. girl based on past generations on both sides of our family and my DH's family.
Can someone please explain to the general public that this baby thing is pretty much 50/50. I really dont care if they say to hang from a pink trapeze if you want a girl or if they say to eat blue M&M's if you want to have a boy. We get who we get!

Tis true my friend. Tis true. Every baby in my family becomes a fun project.
However, I think my oldest sister wants so desperately to get me back for something to my nephew as a child. My other sister and I were putting on his pajamas and we put a temporary tattoo of a cute little devil on his butt. My sister put him right to bed that night without needing to change him. The next day comes and the nanny, a good Catholic woman, probably ran to church to pray for our lost souls after she changed his diaper and caught a look at the tat. My sister had a lot of explaining to do to her!!

I'm sticking to the 50/50 story.
One of DHs family had 12 BOYS!!!!!!!!! out of 12 kids
I refuse to believe in genetics.. and think mine could be first.

My family is 90% girls as far as kids go. I told FH it's up to him to add a boy to the lineup!

Well my paternal grandfather produced
2 girls
1 boy
and then another girl
My father produced:
2 girls
1 boy
and then another girl
My brother produced
2 girls
1 boy
and stopped
(Birth ORDER at least works consistently on my Dad's side)
My maternal grandparents had 2 girls
DH's paternal grandparents had one of each
DH's maternal grandparents produced 2 girls and a boy.
DH's parents had a boy and then 2 girls.
To me this all means poo. My gut tells me our first will be a son and will look just like DH. Though a big part of me hopes for a daughter just to see how DH would get all protective over her against guys like him!!!
