My take on the world trade center movie
we just came home from the movie. it was beauitfuly put together. i know there was a lot of firemen and police men but i didn't realize it was that many. it showed how the rescue people came together to help out. there was a lot of teenagers in the theatre. they were laughing at some parts. that was getting dh upset. i don'[t think teenagers should see it. i need to be mature enough. some teenagers aren't mature

I don't think I can see it for a while, Man I am tearing up right now. I can't even watch the previews.
I don't know, it just hit too close to home. My dad lost friends, I didn't, THANK GOD!!!! But I just can't, it's not in me yet.

I am torn. I want to see it but I don't want to see it. I don't think I can handle it emotionally yet.

I agree with the above.
Gail - thank you so much for your honest and open review. I know what to expect now whenever I do decide to see it...but just not now.

Re: My take on the world trade center movie
why were they laughing?
when I see a lot of teens today (like when I go to the mall or grocery shopping) I pity them. they have no ethics or morals. they're punks. they can't even make it at a minimum wage job. nice future they'll have.

Re: My take on the world trade center movie
My DH and most of our close friends are NYPD. We were out with another couple the other night - and the guys said they were glad it was made because they feel that people have already forgotten. Though neither of them wanted to see it. The other cop's wife said she wants to see it but will wait until its out on tv because she doesn't want to get po'd at people in the theatre if they react that way to any part of the movie, or are munching on popcorn, etc. I still don't know if I could handle it - just too close to home for us since DH was there and we lost friends.

I cant believe that they would laugh. DH and I were just having the discussion, and he feels it is NOT too soon, he feels many people have forgotten about 9/11......sad

Re: My take on the world trade center movie
I am not ready to see it. Thankfully, I didn't lose anyone but trying to get ahold of people (too many) was the scariest thing ever. Im sure we all went through it. My FIL retired from WTC a year before and lost most of his coworkers I also know a girl from HS that lost her dad (I haven't spoke to her in years) but my heart still goes out to her and her family. Im just not ready.

Re: My take on the world trade center movie
DH worked on the clean up in the aftermath of 9/11 and absolutely is against going to see the movie. I also feel that it is just too soon and too raw, and I have very negative emotions about people profiting from 9/11 -- which is what everyone involved in this movie is doing.

Only 10% of ticket sales are going to charities related to 9/11. Only 30-40% of any films gross profits come from theatrical release. Not super generous, in my opinion.
