My tires got slashed yesterday!!!
Yup.. My brand new tires.... We got new ones in October and then I hit the curb and popped one so we got ANOTHER new one last week. And then yesterday some punk went around the neighborhood slashing tires and he got our car. We were the only one on our block that was hit but we are on a quiet dead end that ends at a school parking lot. My house is the house next to the lot so they must have hit my car and then continued onto the other blocks in the neighborhood. The police came and said it was the 10th report he wrote up for tire slashing the surrounding blocks that day!!!!!
I am sooo ANGRY!!!! Seriously why would someone do that??? 270 dollars later we have two new tires.. I just don't get it. Do they really have no idea how much they are costing people or do they just not care????
 
ETA: We live in North Bellmore so it is not like it is a bad neighborhood. Just some punk kids causing trouble.

I guess they would but there is 500$ deductable so it's not worth it. Maybe if they had slashed all 4 tires I would have called the insurance company.
Someone recently told me to go down the police station and get a copy of the report and save the receipt for the tires and that then you can deduct it from your taxes. Is that true?

I'm not sure if it can be deducted from your taxes but I'd like to find out also because this has happend to DH 3 times last year & it was really annoying... stupid jerks have nothing better to do

I am so sorry to hear that this happened to you.....I don't understand what is wrong with kids these days!! So careless. In my neighborhood a few weeks ago, we had kids breaking car windows. Whatever happened to morals and values

DH had that happen in the Lnidenhurst train station, but thankfully they only did one so he was able to change it and drive home. They did tires, broke windows, other damage too. It really stinks.
