My uncle needs a heart retransplant
My uncle (who lives in Florida) underwent a heart transplant about 18 years ago. Typically heart transplants only last about 10 years so we are so grateful that he has been able to live with this heart for so long. He is in reject and needs a transplant but the hospital won't put him on the transplant list until he raises $5000. My sister is considering selling candy to the people at work but I could use some more suggestions. I'd love to raise a lot of money as quickly as possible so he can be put on the list quickly. Any ideas (and prayers) would be greatly appreciated!

Re: My uncle needs a heart retransplant
We did several fundraisers for my cousin years ago when she needed a transplant. One option was to go to your local Burger King (or McDonalds- they all typically do the same type of thing) and they block off a 4 hour window where 20% of all the proceeds will be given to the person in need. If you spread the word in your area, people usually LOVE to help out and will be more than happy to eat a burger to save a life.
Another option, you could as his church/place of worship to hold a silent auction. It talkes a while to get it organized but people LOVE that sort of thing and even if they only give 1/2 of the proceeds to your uncle, it's at least something.
Good luck!!
