my VERY cautious hello (long!)

Hi all! We did an FET on 11/13 and I got a BFP. The next month or so after the BFP was A LOT of drama that has left me feeling less than confident. First, my betas were low and not doubling. They always rose, but never doubled. I stayed in beta hell until about 5.5 weeks pregnant when my RE decided to cut off my meds and call it a loss. 4 days later, my beta was still rising (not doubling) and because of my ectopic history he decided the next step would be to give me mexotrexate to end the pregnancy. At this point we couldn’t see anything on the sono in my uterus and nothing in my tubes so he wanted to give mexotrexate as a precaution. Well, the morning of my mexotrexate shot, I asked for one more sono and sure enough, there was a sac in my uterus! The sac was very small and measuring behind and I was told the pregnancy was not viable but I had the option of going back on my meds, which I did.

We then entered into sono hell where I’d go in every week and the baby would be about 5 days behind and I would be told the pregnancy was not viable and we would just have to wait it out until I miscarried. After a few weeks of this, we decided to see Dr. Kofinas. At his office, I still measure behind by about 4 days, but he doesn’t seem too concerned and the heartbeat is always strong (usually around 170bpm). Today I am 10 weeks pregnant and my next appointment will be our NT scan. This morning our little bean was dancing around for us and again had a great heart rate. I am scared as hell that the bottom is gonna drop out and my RE’s prediction about this pregnancy not being viable will come true, but with every waking moment I’m trying to stay as optimistic and grateful as possible. I'm actually TERRIFIED to write this post thinking that I will end up cursing myself! I literally spent the first 4 weeks of this pregnancy sitting around waiting to miscarry so it’s very hard for me to revel in being pregnant but hopefully I’ll feel better after the NT! This is the true epitome of a miracle!!!!

eta: it just goes to show how important it is to be your own advocate. You advocating for yourself truly made the difference for your little bean. Mommy, you saved it's life! The doctors can speculate, but they can't predict the future with 100% certainty. I think we are both proof of that!

Keep doing what you're doing! I am a big believer in miracles. I wonder if your Dr was my old RE. My 1st pg my #s were low but were doubling. Did a couple of sonos and really pushed the methotrexate @ me & after fighting for over a week w them they scared me into it saying my bloodwork was showing my organs were being affected... And the shot was given the next am w/o a sono to this day I still wonder if I should've given in. I'm SO glad you didnt! best of luck to you!

First of all Congratulations on your LO who seems to be quite a fighter. I think it so great that there's a strong heartbeat and I hope as each milestone passes you exhale and feel a little less stressed. I am for you that you continue on with a healthy pregnancy leading to a happy little bundle of joy!

I see Kofinas, started seeing him when pregnant last time. That was not a successful pregnancy. If Kofinas thinks there is a problem, he will let you know. If he says relax, then relax. Sending you tons of prayers.
