My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

I had a beautiful Mother's day!
I woke up for church and DH was already at work. I found a card from him on the nightstand, a BEAUTIFUL card from DD and our dog in the living room. . . kept walking and found Dunkin Donuts waiting for me in the kitchen!

DD and I went to church, I got my special mommy blessing!

It was so beautiful out, so we walked to my MIL's and had a BBQ there with BIL and SIL.

After a few hours, we walked over to my aunt's house and had MORE BBQ and goodies. My WHOLE family was there - had a great time with all the kiddies and DD loved staying outside and playing with them.

Then, we went home - I waited up for DH to get home from work. He got me a GC to my favorite spa - I was totally surprised since I figured he would have left me a gift in the morning. Then we went to bed (10PM! I haven't seen 10PM in a while, Chat Icon )

Other than DH working, it was the perfect day! Chat Icon

It wasn't my first, but so far, it was my best! Chat Icon

My DH just really made sure that I didn't have to do a thing all day. He took care of the kids, the dishes, and cleaning up while I went to brunch with my mom. He cleaned up the yard while the kids entertained us Chat Icon prepped all the food, made sure I ...had a drink at all times Chat Icon and would not let me help clean up even though both or our dads seemed to think it was Father's Day and didn't lift a finger either. Chat Icon The awesome gift he got me was nice (iPhone4) but the cards he gave me, and the cards he helped the kids with, were the most outstanding part of the day.

I am going to haev quite a time making sure his Father's Day is just as good Chat Icon

We were in Boston for the weekend as we are moving there so we were looking at places to live. I was until 2 am sat night/sun with dd and then slept until 7 when she got up :). I went into the bathroom and when I came out dd (dh) had a pandora bag for me. He got me a braclet with 5 charms. And a card he never ever buys cards haha. Then we got ready and we walked to the aquarium had fun there then walked around Boston for a while. It was beautiful out and the best part was we got to spennd threat as family since he has working there m-f while I am in ct with dd.

My very 1st Mother's Day and my very 1st post on the Parenting board!! Chat Icon

Lily is only 7 weeks old so her sleeping well the night before was a gift by itself. She got up to eat at 6am and Kevin starting pulling out gifts from various hiding spots. He gave me 2 cards, one from Lily and one from himself.
He showed me a photo montage he made (Lily helped!) starting with her sonogram pictures.
He had my avatar picture blown up, made into B&W and professionally framed.
I also got a beautiful sterling silver "Mom" bracelet that the "O"'s im MOM are diamonds!
Finally an iPod nano, complete with our iTunes library already loaded in.

Then Kevin took care of Lily while I went back to bed, I was able to sleep in until 10!! We relaxed for a while, got ready, and then headed out. Kevin took me to lunch at the restaurant where we had my baby shower and Lily slept while we ate.

Then we went to my mom's for a BBQ and Lily only fussed a little bit when we got home. It was such a perfect day, I wish it didn't have to end!!!

It was such a great day! The best part was just looking at my babies and knowing how lucky I am to have them!

My DH was great too he didn't want me to have to do anything all day...but we both realized that was impossible with twins that I am breastfeedingChat Icon Chat Icon He made me a big breakfast and then I took the babies for a long walk while he prepped all the food for a bbq with my family. My family came over and he did everything! He did such a great job.

He gave my the nicest cards, gc to a salon and plants to plant in the yard from Jack and Avery so I can always remember my first mothers day. Such a great day!

Re: My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

I really had a great day.

I wanted to sleep but that didn't happen. Ty woke me up at 6 but he was so mushy and all smiles it was like he knew it was Mother's Day.

I cleaned out Tyler's closet and changed over his clothes (sounds horrible for some but I love organizing so I felt great after) then I went to a 9am Zumba class which was amazing.

I came home and Jack told me to close my eyes because he had a surprise for me. DH bought roses and a Pandora charm from the boys. He also interviewed Jack and wrote the questions and answers in my card. An example of a question was "Why is mommy so nice" -- his answer was "She buys me presents" Chat Icon

We went to my inlaws house, had bagels and coffee.

Came home, cleaned, cooked, and my entire family came over for a great bbq. The kids had a blast and it was so much fun!

Re: My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

It was also my first Mother's day and it was perfect.

We went on my Dad's boat with my family and everyone played with DS so I got to sit down, put my feet up and relax in the sun (my favorite thing!) Chat Icon

When we got home DH gave me the cutest cards, one from DS that he "signed". Chat Icon Then DH made a big card from himself that had pictures of all of us in it and a poem, it was really so cute because he doesn't normally do things like that, lol.

The BEST part was when I went to bed early and then woke up the next day with my apartment being spotless!!! I was in heaven! DH stayed up and cleaned because he knew I was upset we didn't have time to during Mother's day. Chat Icon

Re: My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

Tilde, I'm so jealous that you can WALK to your family member's houses. SO jealous. You have no idea.

This was my 2nd mothers day and it was great, except that I didn't get to spend it with my mom (who came down last weekend to visit) or my MIL (who is in NY right now). Chat Icon

But DH got DD up and they went to run errands, pick up breakfast and he surprised me with shelving for our closet, which we've been wanting to do for months! They brought me a huge bouquet of flowers and I got to relax most of the day. We all went out to dinner that night and then when DD went to bed we rented a movie.

Re: My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

It's wasn't my first, but it was my best I think. I got to sleep in until 9, then DS picked flowers for me, so now I have a cup of dandelions that he was so proud to give meChat Icon Even though DH bought me a gift that had a plug, he was very thoughtful, it was a smoothie maker for my morning smoothies. I also got 2 nightgowns and an orchid. He got a card and had the kids write their names.

Took me out to lunch, but then had to go to work. So I spent the rest of the day with at my mom's house and taught DS how to play wiffle ball, and got a lot of wet baby kisses from DD.

It was a great day!

Re: My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

i had a great day too! We actually went to brunch on saturday to avoid crowds. It was nice, our very first brunch out post baby.

Then on the actual day DH made me breakfast and then I went out for a pedicure for myself!! So nice to have an hour just to relax! I read a magazine and just enjoyed it!

Then we went to Central Park with my sister, my cousin and their kids. It was so beautiful out. DH tried to make sure i had to do as little as possible that day. He went out that evening to get us sushi.

And also I got some great gifts

He bought me a IPAD!! He had been trying to get me one in general but the store was always out but he walked over while i was getting my pedicure and it was sitting on my nursing chair when i came home!!! I was so surprised.

He also made a donation in my name to an organization that provides pre-natal care for mothers who can't afford it in other countries. He said he saw the site about all the babies who die before they are born and was so sad and thought how fortunate we are to be able to have such good care. AWWWW he is such a softie!!

Re: My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

My morning sounds like your Tilde- it was fab!

I woke up around 10am when DS woke up. Walked downstairs to a hot DD coffee waiting for me, a bouquet of flowers and a card from DH and one from DS- it was so sweet. I then was led to the deck where breakfast was waiting for us. DH downloaded the Adele CD for me and had it playing on the deck as breakfast was being served. He did so good!

Then we went to church w my mom and family and came back to our house for a great BBQ. It was my 2nd mothers day but last year was so new- this year was so much better!

Re: My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

First Mother's Day here too! DD (who normally sleeps till 7am) was up at 5:30am, and so was DH! I slept in until about 9am then went for the massage DH surprised me with! After, he and DD met me and we went for a yummy brunch including a fantabulous (large) mimosa. Yum. DD then took a 2 hour nap (also a nice treat!) and after we went to Prospect Park where DD walked on grass for the first time.

All in all it was an incredible first mommy's day!

Re: My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

First mommy's day here too. I loved my morning with my son, we walked to Church, but I made a mistake with the time and missed the mass. It was kind of stressful for me b/c I had both sets of parents and DHs family over for lunch and it was kind of loud, the baby was crying and I always get overwhelmed with everyone wanting to hold him and spend time with him. What can I say...I got issues! All in all, after a while, I felt more at ease and enjoyed my day (once everyone left Chat Icon ) I love my family, but sometimes....they make me CRAZY!

Re: My very FIRST Mother's Day - Share your day too!

This was my third Mother's day, but my first one as a mom of two. Chat Icon It was more like Mother's day weekend. DH took me shopping on Friday while my mom watched the kids. Since I had the gallstone issues all last year while preggo, I lost so much weight and nothing fits me..so he took me to buy new clothes for summer. :)

We managed to get tickets to see Fresh Beat Band perform at Sesame Place on Sunday, so we went to Sesame. The show was amazing, and DS was so thrilled to see them..the look on his face was enough of a gift for me. And although DD is only 8 months old, she had fun too and went ape shiit over Big Bird. Chat Icon

After Sesame, we drove to Philly to try Pat's and Geno's cheesesteaks..I had never tried them (I liked Geno's better lol). Finished the day with a Mocha Coconut from starbucks...yum. It was such a fun day, I loved our time together as a family, and I loved seeing the excitement on DC's faces. That made my day.

I also got my mommy necklace and new earrings. DH definitely did good and now I gotta plan one hell of a fathers day. Chat Icon
